About Alora Shafer

With a background in psychology and experience in retail, I am passionate about using analytical skills to achieve success in the workplace. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Texas A&M University and look to specialize in human resources, motivation and attitudes, and HR analytics. My work as a Teaching Assistant has honed my ability to provide detailed feedback, improve student performance, and manage administrative tasks, while my retail management experience has equipped me with strong customer service, team leadership, and communication skills. I also recently started a position as a receptionist at Belle Vie Massage & Bodywork that has improved my clerical and documentation skills.I became interested in Industrial-Organizational Psychology during my undergraduate degree as a research assistant. I was trying to better understand how neuroticism and stress may synergistically affect working memory. Using this knowledge, I thought about how to apply this knowledge to work settings, and how employees might manage stress in a technological world that keeps evolving. Understanding what strategies underly managing a healthy work-life balance is a passion of mine, and I would like to apply this passion in an internship in the summer of 2025. I would be more than eager to be part of an effort to help your organization increase employee engagement, manage stress, and feel stable about their role within the organization.
