ABOUT ALEJANDRA LÓPEZ ESPINO

I am a trade economist with over ten years of experience in applied microeconomics, econometrics, and computational economics. Currently, I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics at Purdue University’s Daniels Business School, where I focus my research on International Trade, Production Networks, and Quantitative Policy Analysis. My primary mission is to understand how the economy operates as a complex system, particularly through the lens of production networks where firms are nodes and input purchases are edges that often cross international borders. I utilize advanced statistical and computational methods to analyze large-scale data and develop models that capture the intricate interactions and dynamics of economic agents. I have presented my work at prestigious institutions such as the Chicago Fed and the Central Bank of Mexico, and I have received fellowships in recognition of my research excellence.
