About Alopa Waje
I’m a fourth-year Biomedical Engineering student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, with a concentration in mechanics and materials. My experiences include engineering and process optimization at Boston Scientific, bioprocess development at Bristol Myers Squibb, and validation engineering at Thermo Fisher Scientific. I’ve developed strong teamwork and organizational skills as a leader in organizations like the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Co-founder and Captain of the Rangeela Fusion Dance Team, and the Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) Leadership Honors Society. Some of my academic projects and research include creating 3D bioprinted models of vascular tissue to depict accurate disease modeling and my capstone project of creating a non-invasive continuous blood pressure monitoring device in collaboration with Mass General Hospital. These experiences have strengthened my iterative problem-solving, technical, and collaborative skills. I’m especially passionate about product/device development that can positively impact patients and improve access to quality care.
