About Alonso Arregui Martínez

I am a second-year Aerospace Engineering undergraduate student at Georgia Tech with a keen interest on aeromechanics and computational methods that enable the design of next-generation, high-performance, and efficient aircraft and spacecraft. Currently, I serve as the Simulations Lead at Ramblin’ Competition Rocketry, contributing directly to the design and performance analysis of a high-powered rocket targeting a while carrying a 3U CubeSat payload. I am also involved in the Low-Gravity Science and Technology lab, implementing sensors and actuators for an ISS-like plant chamber with temperature, air, humidity, water and light control. I am seeking internship or research opportunities where I can apply simulation, controls or multiphysics modelling skills while working in a collaborative environment and learning from experienced engineers. I am also open to roles that allow me to explore other specializations within aerospace as I continue to expand my technical and research interests.

Experience

  1. Simulations Lead

    Ramblin\' Competition Rocketry

Jun 2025 — Present · Atlanta, GA, US

Coordinating a multi-member technical team to develop and validate performance, stability, and safety simulations for our IREC competition vehicle- Built the team’s baseline RocketPy simulation framework to model thrust, aerodynamics, atmospheric effects, and full-flight trajectory for the launch vehicle- Implemented Monte Carlo simulations to quantify the impact of wind variability, mass uncertainty and thrust deviations on apogee and landing locations- Automated parametric studies across fin and airframe geometries to support the aerostructures team during the design selection phase- Verified static stability margins using Barrowman theory and RASAero predictions, ensuring a minimum stability margin within competition limits
