About Alon Avidan
I am a Professor of Neurology and Vice Chair at UCLA, where I also serve as Director of the UCLA Sleep Disorders Center. My academic journey began at UCLA, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology before pursuing a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Public Health (MPH) at The George Washington University. Following my Neurology Residency and Chief Residency at Georgetown University Medical Center, I completed a Fellowship in Sleep Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. Prior to joining UCLA in 2006, I was an Assistant Professor and Director of the Sleep Disorders Clinic at the University of Michigan.At UCLA, we offer an extraordinary blend of academic excellence across diverse disciplines such as healthcare, STEM fields, humanities, social sciences, visual arts, and performing arts.
