Qa Engineer @Utimaco

View department →

Embedded QA in an R&D team, operating as the sole QA engineer responsible for a client data security product. No QA org above me — full ownership from test strategy to execution to delivery.Inherited a product with a reputation for being resistant to automation. Built a production-grade, end-to-end automation framework from scratch — multi-environment parallel execution, automatic state reset between runs, and hypervisor-level pre-boot interaction. Designed and developed with AI as a primary co-engineering tool, without a developer background. Also own the full test suite — planning, writing, executing, and maintaining across functional, integrity, sanity, and vulnerability testing.

ABOUT ALON BAHAT

Principal QA Engineer with 18 years across cybersecurity, storage, and client data security. A full reset 3 years ago — new country, new role, new challenge. The challenge turned out to be a product that its developers had written off as too complex to automate. What followed was a long process: starting basic, iterating, rebuilding from scratch on better infrastructure, and eventually landing on a production-grade automation framework built with Claude as my primary AI co-engineer. No developer background. Just knowledge, clear thinking, and AI as a collaborator. The practical conclusion: AI removes the coding barrier that was keeping good engineers on the sidelines. The expertise, the instincts, the judgement — that stays human. I write and share about that here. And increasingly I\'m looking to put that experience to use mentoring QA engineers who have the domain knowledge and instincts, but haven\'t yet found their way into automation. Let\'s connect.
