ABOUT ALOK GUPTA

Dr Alok Gupta is presently Senior Director & Head of Medical Oncology at Max Hospital Lucknow. Previously worked at Medanta Lucknow as Director Medical Oncology for close to 5 years. Prior to that worked at MAX Super Specialty Hospital, Saket, New Delhi as Consultant Medical Oncologist for close to 4 years. Before joining MAX healthcare, he worked at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi as Assistant Professor of Medical Oncology. He did MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University followed by MD in Internal Medicine from King George Medical College, Lucknow. Thereafter, he did DM in Medical Oncology (Super-Specialization in Cancer Management) from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. Dr. Gupta has over 55 research publications in various National and International Peer Reviewed Journals. He has presented his work in several National and International conferences. He is also a member of American Society of Clinical Oncology and European Society of Medical Oncology. He had received various awards including fellowships from Indian Council of Medical Reaserch (ICMR) and Department of Science and Technology (DST), India; and certifications from Australia and Asia Pacific Clinical Oncology Research Development (ACORD) Group, Australia and Society of Critical Care Medicine, California, USA. He firmly believes in practicing Evidence Based Medicine. His area of expertise is diagnosis and medical management of cancer, including use of chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immuno-therapy and hormonal therapy in cancer management. Among all cancers, he has special interest in the treatment of gynaecological (ovary, uterus and cervix) cancer and urological (prostate, urinary bladder, testes and kidney) cancer.
