WORK HISTORY
Nighttime Sea Turtle Tagging Supervisor @Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium
Sarasota, FL, US
Over 1,500 hours were dedicated to nocturnal sea turtle tagging, hatchling sampling, and related laboratory work. Responsibilities included collecting blood samples and morphometric data from nesting females and hatchlings, conducting microchip and metal flipper tagging, performing skin biopsies, and marking nests for both Loggerhead and Green sea turtle species. Office duties involved data entry and genetic analysis using RStudio and Excel, managing large-scale datasets, and importing samples. Additionally, I engaged with the public to educate them about our research and trained new interns and volunteers in field research protocols and laboratory techniques. As a supervisor, I organized schedules for volunteers and interns to ensure efficient operation and coverage.
