General Counsel of the leading North American van trailer manufacturer, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company.\\\\n\\\\nCollaborate with and provide balanced and business-friendly legal advice to executives, management, and staff on a wide range of legal matters and policies. Primary internal clients include leaders and C-suite executives in Sales, Operations, Finance, Engineering, Procurement, Business Strategy, and Human Resources.\\\\n\\\\nLEADERSHIP, MANAGEMENT, and OPERATIONS: Lead the growth of the legal department, including growing the legal team from one attorney to four team members, while managing budget. Establish playbooks and processes for legal department. Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the legal department.\\\\n\\\\nCONTRACT NEGOTIATION AND DRAFTING: Negotiate and draft multi-million dollar commercial agreements and contracts for an international, rapidly growing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Contracts include master service agreements, sales agreements, template terms and conditions, vendor agreements, commercial leases, contractor agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), supply and distribution agreements, employment and severance agreements, and marketing agreements.\\\\n\\\\nCOMPLIANCE: Research, analyze, and assure compliance with various laws and regulations as part of ongoing risk management efforts, including the Transportation Recall Enhancement, Accountability and Documentation (TREAD) Act, the Motor Vehicle Safety Act, and Early Warning Reporting (EWR). Assure compliance in employment, privacy, corporate governance, and other matters.\\\\n\\\\nREGULATORY SUBMISSIONS: Coordinate regulatory submissions and responses to inquiries from federal agencies, such as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).\\\\n\\\\nLITIGATION/OUTSIDE COUNSEL MANAGEMENT: Oversee litigation, intellectual property matters, and privacy/cybersecurity risks, including cost-effective outside counsel management.\\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n
