Originally called the Harrison Marching Society, the group was formed to help elect Benjamin Harrison as the 23rd President of the United States. After the election, the group decided to secure a clubhouse and increase their membership, renaming themselves the \"Columbia Club\" after the popular patriotic synonym for the United States. Over the years, the Columbia Club has hosted many distinguished visitors, including Presidents Roosevelt, Eisenhower, and both Bushes, as well as Charles Lindbergh and Queen Marie of Romania. The current clubhouse, the Club\'s third home, is a 10-story architectural showpiece located on Monument Circle that was dedicated in 1925.
