ABOUT ALLY SMIT
I consider myself to be a commerce graduate with a talent lens. Graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce in 2017, I learned how organizations can have the best business strategy in place, but without the ability to effectively recruit, manage and develop their workforce, their success cannot be sustainable. My interest in the HR profession has motivated me to pursue employment in the field (with over 2.5 years of experience working within an HR domain), prepare and successfully pass the BC CPHR National Knowledge Exam, and attend the University of Toronto\'s Masters of Industrial Relations and Human Resources (MIRHR) program. I am currently a student in the 2-year MIRHR program and expect to graduate in the spring of 2022. My specific interests within HR/IR include Labour/Employee Relations, HR Data & Analytics, and Performance Management. My experiences working within a variety of industries, such as consulting, financial services, government/military, and industrial/mill, have only piqued an interest in learning more from dynamic, Canadian organizations.
