As Kern County\'s Chief Communications Officer, I lead internal and external communications for my organization of nearly people. With close to 40 departments, my goal is to bring residents closer to government by elevating each agency\'s messaging through thoughtfully sharing their heartfelt stories via digital media. I also provide top Kern County officials with communication strategies as part of my workforce\'s executive team. Upon my hiring, I developed and implemented an award-winning countywide newscast, Around Kern County, which I write, record, and lead my team in production on a weekly basis. I also manage all Kern County social media platforms and website, and assist our departments with branding, media relations, and content creation as needed. Additionally, I lead crisis communications for our County, ranging from strategic to emergency communications designed to instill trust between our County and the public. As a former broadcast news anchor, I enjoy my role maintaining close relationships with our local and national media as Kern County\'s spokeswoman. I also take pride in planning various mass events geared towards elevating our message and sharing our brand story. Most importantly, I am honored to shine a spotlight on the public servants who keep our community healthy and safe. I feel so lucky for the opportunity to promote the third-largest county by size in California through meaningful storytelling.
