ABOUT ALLY LAPPEN

I am a senior studying Consumer Behavior and Marketplace Studies in the School of Human Ecology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am also pursuing a certificate in Entrepreneurship. Upon graduation, I intend to work in the fashion industry on the buying or marketing side. My previous experience in retail working as a sales associate for clothing companies, both in Los Angeles, CA and Madison, WI, has allowed me to not only build my interpersonal skills, but also understand firsthand what consumers are looking for. Additionally, my coursework has also assisted me in learning how to analyze consumer behavior and insights, as well as how to predict trends in the industry. My former position as Chapter Life Vice President of the Theta Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta fraternity has allowed me to develop invaluable leadership, organizational, and time-management skills. Managing a team of 10 women as well as working with the rest of my chapter\'s executive board, I learned how to efficiently delegate responsibilities, the importance of communication, how to plan successful events, and formulate thorough risk management plans.
