About Ally Goelz
Hi I\'m Ally!I’m a dual major in Magazine, News & Digital Journalism and Political Science at Syracuse University with a minor in Applied Data Analytics, where I’m focused on reporting compelling and transparent political journalism.I currently serve as an editor and writer for The Good Life Magazine and a digital news editor and writer for The Daily Orange, where I cover everything from politics to SU events. On campus, I’m also the Content Curator for Phi Sigma Sigma, where I manage digital storytelling and brand voice across platforms, expanding my skills in video-editing platforms. This past summer, I interned at the Washington Examiner as an editorial intern. In this role, I write 1-4 articles daily, covering topics: politics, policy, audience reach focused, social, breaking news, and investigation. I also interviewed the President, House of Representatives and Senators—getting their input on the day\'s top news. Pieces have been clipped by The White House, and published in the WEX special edition “Big, Beautiful Bill” magazine.Whether I’m analyzing campaign messaging for research, writing a long-form piece, or exploring public policy, I’m drawn to work that challenges power structures and informs the public with nuance and impact. My work spans political communication, investigative reporting, and content analysis, with growing experience in data storytelling, social media strategy, and media ethics. So far, I’ve developed proficient skills in Adobe Platforms, R, HTML, CSS, Microsoft Suites, AP style, and Broadcast style writing.Nice meeting you!Catch all of my coverages on X:@GoelzAlly
