About Allie Long
I\'m a science communicator, writer, and digital strategist who loves to make meaningful change through accessible storytelling. I\'ve worked with a variety of clients across academia, non-profits, tech, and start-ups to create both tangible and digital products that improve people’s lives - from orchestrating over a hundred educational lightning talks on climate change to reporting on holistic approaches to maternal health disparities in the South.I also love learning about how structures and systems impact our everyday lives, and I firmly believe in the power that stories hold in bringing people together to create a more empathetic, shared sense of understanding. By day, I do this in my role as the Communications Lead at EarthLab, an institute at the UW College of the Environment taking equitable action on climate change. When I\'m not at work, you can probably find me experimenting with various visual art mediums like collaging or watercolors, taking long podcast walks with my hound dog Lucy, or testing out new recipes in my kitchen.
