About Alli Mowrer James

Originally from the bootheel of Missouri, I am a graduate of St. Louis University School of Law where I earned a health law concentration. As a high schooler, I had the opportunity to make a little extra money at my grandfather’s law firm to save for college. Every Wednesday I helped my grandfather, a municipal court judge, take notes during the docket. It was a privilege to learn about the complexities of the criminal justice system beginning at the municipal level. My municipal experience as teenager shaped my love of the law and taught me the importance of public service.During law school, I interned at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri in the Advocates for Family Health Division where I assisted families with their Missouri Medicaid claims. I had the opportunity to live in D.C. and work for the Department of Justice in their Antitrust Division focusing on the macro level of policy litigation to prevent monopolies in the healthcare information and health technology space. After graduating law school, I took a job at the Missouri Attorney General’s Office in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU). In MFCU, I have had the opportunity to open, investigate, and prosecute criminal fraud and abuse cases as well as participate in large scale civil investigations and prosecutions.
