Manage the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Violence Prevention Subcommittee and Gun Safety and Injury Prevention Initiative. Leverage Friends of Children funds to support dissemination and implementation of training and technical assistance resources intended to bolster healthcare professionals’ capacity to provide universal and targeted counseling in ambulatory and hospital settings. Facilitate development and revision of AAP policy around violence prevention, in partnership with the manager of the Council on Injury, Violence and Poison Prevention. Manage grant-funded programs focused on sports medicine, school health, and injury prevention, working closely with project advisors and key consultants. Inform project design, including logic model, project structure, intervention/implementation modalities, participant engagement approaches, and other relevant facets. Ensure implementation of the project according to design, coordinating the efforts of the project advisors and consultant to ensure seamless delivery.Monitor project operating budgets on a monthly basis, providing financial variance reports to supervisors. Make recommendations on needed budgetary and/or programmatic adjustments to the AAP management teams and project advisors. Prepare and oversee implementation of project consultant agreement contracts. Prepare, solicit review and submit required grant progress reports in accordance with funder requirements. Serve as project contact person with grant agencies and facilitate requests from funders. Support acquisition of additional funding where needed to support AAP activities and programs in assigned content areas. Partner with Development staff to identify and engage potential funders; monitor federal funding opportunities; and manage the development of grant proposals, taking a leadership role in writing proposal content.
