   Wellness in Action is a local nonprofit whose mission is to connect the Big Sky community with a network of resources to improve mental health. As the Executive Director, I work with a fantastic and capable board of directors and staff to deliver these critical services to the people who call Big Sky home. Services include affordable counseling using a sliding scale payment system based on income, free guidance from a Community Health Worker to aid in providing critical resources, suicide awareness training, and scholarships provided to youth for extra curricular camps and programs. For nearly 20 years, Wellness in Action has served the community in Big Sky. As the area continues to experience tremendous expansion and growth, the need for mental health services increases. Big Sky is unique and often referred to as a paradise paradox. Completely engulfed in beauty with access to unlimited outdoor activities, the challenges presented by the cost of living, affordability of insurance, substance abuse, and the dynamics of seasonal employment all contribute to the relevance and need for the programs at Wellness in Action.
