About Allison Zech
After completing my Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UW in 2020, I knew I wasn\'t done learning. During my Masters, I worked in industry, and conducted research to advance medicine. I was able to expand my DFM skills, prototype with customers, meet 2D/3D design specifications, and develop testing protocols for product validation all while expanding my scope of knowledge through academia. During my time on the Avionics team at Prime Air I owned the mechanical design of a flight critical component included the entire design to production, DFM with suppliers, and all testing in between. After transferring to the Product Support Engineering Organization I now innovate effective, ergonomic ground support equipment for drone handling.

Designed complex integrated aerospace injection molded PCBA enclosures from printed prototypes to injection samples, to volume production. • Led multidisciplinary teams through concept, modeling, and performance qualification including DO-160 environmental test campaigns. • Developed the lightest and most cost-efficient integrated Air Data System for Unmanned Aircraft Systems available on the market. • Produced documentation, in part with FAA Certification including aircraft install, mechanical, and interface drawings (ASME Y14.5) with performed tolerance stack ups. • Point of contact for electrical connectors, bonded and bolted joints while working within schedule and budgetary constraints. • Assembled qualified line replaceable units that flew on the next generation delivery drone. • Prepared technical documentation for both Senior Leadership and interdisciplinary/supplier reviews, including FAA milestones.
