Established a research-based literacy program, providing almost new books to children last year, providing opportunities for over 2,500 literacy encouters directly with children, focusing on developing a love of reading, confidence in choosing books at an appropriate level, providing relevant, reflective, and up to date resources for children to take home.Presented to staff, Foundation staff and community members, on the subject of literacy, particularly as it pertains to community outreach. Developed a modern library reflective of its patrons, designed according to their specific needs, based on well researched literacy and health literacy outcomes. Coordinated volunteers while providing literacy training and placement support. Designed activities, book fairs, summer reading programs, and library events to engage patrons and attract community support. Coordinated formal presentations and training for staff, internal foundation members, and community partners, to educate and advocate for literacy awareness and specific literacy innitiatives. created visuals, competed grant applications and foundation reports.Educatd stakeholders on the subject of community literacy and community health, including formal and informal training for nursing students and residents.Organized budget, kept detailed records, and managed daily library tasks. Created and supported direct and effective lines of communication with families, physicians, and staff to insure best practices, gather initiative support, and insure continued growth and development. Created a positive work environment that nurtured staff and stakeholder energy, advocacy and participation, funding perfect ways for each stakeholder to engage at their level of comfort and interest. Continued to research, organize, and establish new initiatives that would support the organization\'s mission and vision, while speaking to the needs of the community.
