About Allison Seger
Allison Seger is an instructional leader with demonstrated experience leading professional learning for educators at the district and school level. She is a passionate advocate for culturally relevant and grade-level content as drivers to pursue racial equity, a perspective honed during her years working as an educator in tribal schools and communities. She previously served as an instructional coach at the Saint Francis Indian School on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota, as a teacher leadership development manager for Teach for America in South Dakota, as a school director for the Native Alliance Initiative Teach For America Institute, and as clinical faculty for Johns Hopkins Graduate School of Education. She holds a master’s in educational leadership and administration from Carnegie Mellon University and has a bachelor’s in creative writing from the University of South Dakota. She believes teachers should help students develop their voices as writers, grapple with issues that they feel passionate about and become leaders within their communities.
