Special Lieutenant with the Michigan State Police, responsible for managing the agency’s CALEA accreditation program and overseeing the Written Directives Unit, which develops and maintains department policies. My focus is on supporting consistent, transparent practices across the agency and ensuring our policies reflect both operational needs and professional standards.My background includes assignments in patrol, investigations, and professional development. Each role strengthened my appreciation for the people doing the work and the importance of clear guidance, solid training, and practical processes.I’m a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School’s Emergence Program and am currently completing a master’s through CHDS/NPS in Homeland Security. My graduate research focuses on police culture and the factors that shape it—structural, environmental, psychological, social, and moral. By applying a systems-thinking approach, I will examine how these influences interact and what practical steps organizations can take to better understand and strengthen their culture.
