About Allison Faust

Allison is an experienced emergency veterinarian working for VEG ER for Pets. She is currently working as a Senior Medical Director for VEG Pittsburgh & Cranberry. She helped introduce the first VEG hospital to the Western PA region and is eager to continue to help the people and pets of the Steel City.She helped open VEG’s first Pennsylvania location in Center City Philadelphia in 2022. During her time there, Allison completed a Medical Director Apprenticeship and was also a member of the inaugural classes of the VEG ER Certificate and VEG Exotics Microcertificate programs. Prior to her role in Philadelphia, she also worked at VEG hospitals in New York and New Jersey. Additionally, she is a VEG Campus Partner and enjoys visiting veterinary schools all over the country and mentoring students throughout their veterinary careers.Previously, she was a member of the NERD (New ER Doctor) fellowship program with VEG at their White Plains location. This is an intensive 6-month program that includes advanced training in emergency surgery, endoscopy, exotics, CPR (RECOVER BLS/ALS certification), and point-of-care ultrasound at the Translational Medicine Institute at Colorado State University. She is a member of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine’s class of 2020. She began her first year as a veterinarian jumping into the ever-changing landscape of curbside service during COVID-19 and adapting along the way. In her first year as a veterinarian, she performed 350+ elective, emergency, soft tissue, and dental surgeries. She enjoys the fast-pace of emergency medicine and has experience working as both an urgent care and GP doctor prior to her time at VEG.She has attended multiple veterinary conferences including VETgirlU, IVECCS, WVC, and the Three Rivers Symposium.Her professional interests include all things feline, surgery, education, mentorship, leadership, and enhancing the customer experience.She has traveled to countries throughout the world working with animals, including Thailand, Ecuador, and Australia and is excited to continue contributing to and advancing the multifaceted field of veterinary medicine.
