As Grants Manager for our community’s tourism development authority, I oversee the strategic investment of occupancy tax revenue into capital projects that enhance both the resident and visitor experience. My role bridges public funding, community partnerships, and long-term destination stewardship through transparent and equitable grantmaking.Key Responsibilities-Grant Program Oversight: Manage the Tourism Product Development Fund (TPDF), Legacy Investment from Tourism (LIFT) and other events support and small business grant programs, overseeing application processes, eligibility reviews, funding recommendations, and contract compliance-Community Investment Strategy: Collaborate with local governments, nonprofits, and civic leaders to identify projects that align with strategic priorities and deliver lasting value for both visitors and residents-Policy & Governance: Support BCTDA board processes, including grant cycles, funding decisions, and program updates. Develop clear guidelines and ensure compliance with enabling legislation and fiscal accountability standards-Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a resource for community organizations navigating our grant programs—providing technical assistance, hosting informational sessions, and fostering transparency throughout the funding process-Impact & Reporting: Track grant performance and project milestones, measure community outcomes, and share success stories that demonstrate the value of tourism reinvestment.
