ABOUT ALLISON AMBRIZ

Hi, I’m Allison (she/her) and I’m passionate about utilizing technology to ensure the security of client data and personal information. As a lifelong student who embraces change and accepts problems as challenges, cybersecurity is where I want to go for my career. I graduated with an MBA in Management at the start of the pandemic. Since 2020 I’ve embarked on a personal journey to find the right pathway into the software technology world. In that time, I’ve uncovered a passion for cybersecurity and how important it is in this digital world we now live in. I’ve researched the skills necessary to go into the cybersecurity field and am currently teaching myself the coding language, python, and taking a computer science course online through Harvard University. I have been attending cybersecurity meetings within my company as well as listening to daily cyber threat briefs hosted by Dr. Gerald Auger on the Simply Cyber channel on YouTube. I bring a unique perspective to the cybersecurity field because of my legal acumen, business operations experience and my passion for continuous learning. I have demonstrated clear communication and acknowledging tone and verbiage needed when addressing people of different skill sets. I understand from a management perspective, you can’t speak to a technical person the same way you speak to a marketing person. I am currently working on a cybersecurity portfolio and will post the link to my github as soon as I have that ready. I have a bachelors in Spanish in which I am fluent and have been speaking for the last 10yrs. I am passionate about cybersecurity and hope that one day I can become a mentor for other women in technology to come into this growing field.
