As a PR intern with the office of university communications, I write press releases that are published on WWU News. I cover student research and achievements, campus events, crisis communications, and faculty and alumni accomplishments. I also pitch stories about Western to reporters. I work closely with the executive director of communications to to identify timely story opportunities, craft clear and compelling messaging, and ensure the university’s news reaches local and regional media outlets. Through this work, I support the office’s goal of highlighting the impact of the Western community while strengthening relationships with journalists and the public.

Hey! I’m Allie. I am a senior at Western Washington University and am pursuing a BA in Journalism Public Relations and minoring in Communication Studies and English. I am particularly interested in public relations, media studies, feature writing, and magazine design.I am a personable campaign coordinator for social media.
