   Part of Goodwill Industries International, a multi-billion-dollar Retail operation. Suncoast runs its regional retail operations with multiple warehouses, e-commerce, and community services, employing over 1,500 people. In my role, I am responsible for all aspects of technology supporting Goodwill’s day-to-day operations, expanding their enterprise systems, developing business intelligence capabilities, maintaining cloud and infrastructure as a service, securing data, and developing long term strategic technology plans. Led the implementation of a Warehouse Management system leveraging leading-edge technology (RFID/LoRa), optimizing warehouse product/pallet movements and store transfers.Led the implementation of a new Point of Sale implementation for all retail locations, including inventory management of our new goods, usability of the software and hardware, and integration across systems.As the Security Officer (CISO), I continuously enhanced the company’s cybersecurity posture across on-premises and cloud environments. This includes implementing and maintaining a robust perimeter firewall, segmenting the retail sales network for added protection, enforcing multi-factor authentication, and managing a comprehensive SIEM/SOC solution for proactive threat detection. I also led the initial achievement of PCI DSS compliance and HIPAA/HITECH standards.Additionally focused on transforming Goodwill’s outdated custom-developed applications to the Microsoft.NET framework and Visual Studio development platform. This DevOps initiative includes web application design, application architecture, Agile methodology, and usability testing with end users.Leading the Sustainability initiatives, creating new market and revenue opportunities to reuse, recycle or otherwise sustain products. More specifically, developing business cases on how to recycle plastics and unsold clothing, as well as finding more direct ways to position Goodwill as a circular economy innovator.
