About Allen Pope

I am a North Carolina registered Professional Engineer and a 1984 graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. My 30 year career with the NC Department of Transportation, I have been in a variety of policy, management and engineering positions. The Department has given me a wide range of experiences in operational planning and implementation, management and oversight of budgets, construction and management of complex construction projects, maintenance and preservation of infrastructure, conflict resolution, collaborate with internal and external customers, and response to natural disaster.I grew up on a farm that raised livestock and grew grain crops. I know what hard work is and what it can accomplish. I have always tried to live by the motto I help create while I was Division Engineer for Division 3, ‘Do the right thing and make it personal’.
