About Allegra Knox
When I share that I double-majored in both art and computer science in college at Colgate University, I\'m often met with surprise; however, left and right brain thinking have been a constant in my life since childhood. I was fascinated with drawing and animation as a teen. I self-taught with online resources in addition to attending programs at DigiPen technical institution to learn more about character design and animation and game development. In high school, I was introduced to what \"programming\" and \"computer science\" really meant, and fell in love with coding, using my newfound skills to create websites and simple games, until I was able to explore those topics on a deeper level in college. I love being a full stack engineer now in my professional life; I get to perform very technical tasks in my daily responsibilities, working on a client-facing product, as well as offer my perspective as an artistic, design-oriented thinker. As a person passionate about both art and engineering, I love learning about where the technical and creative collide. To me, art and coding share many similarities that I really enjoy practicing; iterative problem-solving, group collaboration and constructive critiques, learning new perspectives from others, and approaching challenges from different angles.
