Naval Architect and Chartered Engineer with over 25 years of experience in the marine industry. Member of the Lloyd\'s SCR panel. Member of Royal Institution of Naval Architects.IMO Level Oil Spill Response Management qualification and certificate in Marine Salvage Law from Lloyds Maritime Academy.Considerable experience of marine casualties and incidents with a background of analysis and investigation of them, providing technical assistance to Vessel Owners, Solicitors, P&I Clubs, Hull & Machinery Insurers, Charterers, Cargo Owners / Insurers and Salvage Contractors on naval architecture matters. Involved in numerous salvage and wreck removal projects, attending on site during operations, and carrying out surveys of structural damage resulting from collisions, groundings and cargo shift, and surveys of salved vessels, post incident to establish reasons of causation.Extensive knowledge of using a variety of specialist software for salvage and casualty investigation for a diverse range of vessel types, including: container vessels, vehicle carriers, bulk carriers, tankers, jack-up drill rigs, cruise vessels, passenger Ro-Ro ferries, heavy lift vessels, general cargo vessels, cable layers, dredgers, floating docks, fishing vessels, tugs and barges.Also experienced in dynamic motion analysis of damaged and flooding vessels and the appraisal of stability documentation submitted for all ship types for approval under the UK flag state. Performed inclining tests and lightweight surveys of new build vessels, and carried out draft surveys of vessels. Carried out ship model testing for damage survivability and regulatory compliance.Attended as a Marine Warranty Surveyor for renewable energy projects for load-out, transportation, installation of foundation jackets for wind turbine generators and offshore sub-station modules, and attended sub-sea cable installation operations.
