Model Products ManagementOversees all meteorological product development for company numerical weather prediction systems.Model Development/VerificationCreated in-house weather model graphics page using NCL, GEMPAK, PYTHON for use by clients to display model products as well as in-house model graphics.Created scripts to extract key energy specific data (such as PWCDD/GWHDD, country averaged wind/temperature, city forecasts) from model output.Developed in-house global/regional/tropical model verification system for comparison of company developed global and regional modeling systems vs. NCEP/ECMWF models for surface and upper air parameters, tropical cyclone forecasts, and wind forecasts for wind farms using the DTC MET verification tool as well as various FORTRAN programs and shell scripts. Calculated 500mb ACC (Anomaly Correlation Coefficient) scores, surface/upper air temperature/wind bias, MAE, and RMSE in an operational environment. This included large file data download and manipulation.ForecastingProvided forecast consulting for certain events (energy/tropical) with external clients as well as in-house forecast guidance.
