About Allan Hamilton

For nearly twenty years, I have been involved in innovative real estate development, design and construction projects at a variety of scales, from award-winning tech offices and commercial buildings, to advanced university laboratories and medical campuses, to large scale land development and home building. I am interested in markets where investment in thoughtful design, and good communication among stakeholders, can create something new and valuable. I began my career representing owners, planning and managing the development of real estate for tech companies, early co-working spaces, and campuses for medical and scientific research. I enjoy working with brilliant people, translating the world of complex approvals, finance and construction they must navigate to achieve their missions. Recently, I have led and consulted on large-scale conservation-development and home building projects, and led the development of agritourism facilities such as wineries, event and food destinations in rural areas from Vermont to California. I collaborate with smart people who value working land, and I help them to negotiate the development process from approvals to operations. I also teach real estate finance and development at Harvard University, and have co-authored award-winning publications on best practices in development, land use regulation, and U.S. property markets.
