About Allan Foster
I am a licensed professional engineer, a hydrogeologist, and a numerical modeler working in the water resources industry.I obtained a M.Sc. in Hydrology at the Colorado School of Mines in 2019. My thesis research focused on quantifying physical controls on transport anomalies in porous media by integrating applied geophysical methods with groundwater flow, solute transport, and electrical flow- numerical methods. Geochemical controls were also explored. I obtained a B.Sc. in Geological Engineering from Mines in 2017.My technical experience and interests include-groundwater flow modeling-solute transport modeling-geochemical modeling-electrical flow modeling-particle tracking modeling-workflow scripting in Python, R, C++-hydrogeology-hydrogeochemistry and water quality-well construction and development-aquifer testing and analysis-slug testing-surface water / groundwater interaction-Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR), specifically Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR)-water / water & water / rock interaction and controls on water quality-density-driven groundwater flow and solute transport-applied statistical methods-data visualization techniques with Python, R, MATLAB-workflow automation and data processing tool development through scripting-applied hydrogeophysicsMy project experience outside of academia includes a wide range of municipal and private clients.
