About Aliyah Cruz
Woo | Activator | Communication | Positivity | CommandDr. Aliyah Cruz is the incoming Pharmacy Manager, Informatics and Automation at Cedars-Sinai, a nationally recognized health system dedicated to elevating the health status of the communities we serve.Prior to Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Cruz completed a PGY1/PGY2/MS Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency at UW Health. At UW Health, she served in various leadership capacities to progress the pharmacy department and services offered. As Interim Pharmacy Manager of Central Unit Dose Operations at University Hospital and American Family Children\'s Hospital, Dr. Cruz directly managed 4.0 pharmacist FTE and 1.0 technician supervisor FTE. As the Health System Pharmacy Intern Supervisor, Dr. Cruz managed and onboarded 13.0 student FTE throughout various practice sites, coordinated the summer intern program, and devised intern staffing schedules integrated with coexisting experiential programming.Outside of direct HR experience, Dr. Cruz has accrued robust experiences developing and implementing new services and technology across acute care operations, retail pharmacy practice, and specialty practice. Examples of such experiences include the development and coordination of pharmacy workflows for UW Health\'s Home-Based Hospital Care (Hospital at Home) program that launched in July 2023. Pharmacy services included daily cartfills for unit dose tablets, oral syringes, sterile products, and controlled substances. Along with this, Dr. Cruz also obtained in strategic funding to implement innovative pharmacy kiosks across the UW Health system to provide increase convenience and access to patients.Dr. Cruz is ecstatic about continuing to grow her expertise in operations, informatics, and automation, as well as explore her personal interests of community and organizational DEI initiatives and health policy.
