ABOUT ALIYAH J.

When I think of diversity, I think of the word humanity. I believe in order to have diversity you must start with the humanity aspect first. As humans we must be respectful to one another in order to have a healthy balance. While pursuing my degree I prepared myself to proactively take action to address challenges like racial inequities and social injustices. This is why I decided to obtain a Political Science degree because I believe the current systems we have in place do not represent diversity and equity. I actively want to see more inclusion when it comes to policy development, development review, and community engagement. I will utilize interpersonal and leadership skills to foster a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment. At S&P Global I learned that there is power in community involvement. When I was in DC, I made it my priority to attend congressional meetings and social events because I believe knowledge is power. Also, at S&P Global I learned to develop communication strategies to support diversity, equity and inclusion awareness and engagement among staff at all levels and within all communities. My interest in public administration lies within public policy, economic and social welfare, as well as public service. I have the desire to work for an organization where I can use skills like data gathering, analysis, consulting, and collaborative research efforts while maintaining community engagement in the work space. Theoretically, I want to work somewhere I can gain hands on-experience because I want my daily efforts to contribute to the efficiency of the team. Best, Aliyah Jackson
