Harmonizing a rare combination of strong technological savvy and a distinguished creative vision, I am passionate about storytelling through video, photography, software, content creation, brand building and social media, and I find fulfillment in craftsmanship that embodies truth, goodness and beauty. In short, I am a software engineer that also loves the visual media arts.Always eager to learn new skills, invest in community and follow my mission to create, brand, build, hustle, grind and follow Jesus, I have over twenty years of experience building rich, robust software applications along with extensive experience in photography, videography and content creation, fortified by excellent written and oral communication skills. Seasoned in cutting-edge tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, Lightroom, VS Code and Generative AI, I strive to produce high-quality, innovative, engaging, impactful content and software. And, as a relentless self-learner who thrives on engaging new technologies and has a reputation for creativity, trustworthiness, judicious management of priorities, and a work ethic that goes the extra mile, my desire is to use my skills, talents and abilities to partner with others in the pursuit of human flourishing in a free and virtuous society.Note: There are many accomplishments listed on my profile; all glory be to Christ. “Unless the Lord builds the house, they who build it labor in vain.”Any opinions expressed are my own and do not reflect those of my employer, its customers or suppliers.

Experience

  1. Principal Software Engineer

    The Home Depot

    Apr 2024 — Present

Over the past decade, I’ve had the opportunity to lead and engineer some exciting and impactful initiatives at THD.One of the more satisfying achievements was spearheading the complete reimagining of our analytics product. We took everything we learned over the past decade—all the ideas and the thousands of conversations—and rebuilt it from the ground up resulting in the all-new ANALYTICS 7, which launched in September and includes the Adobe Web SDK (Alloy) refined how we collect, analyze and leverage data for deeper, more robust insights. This leap forward dramatically improved data quality, performance, and Core Web Vitals (CWV), with Page Load and Largest Contentful Paint improving by over a full second—a massive win at THD’s scale. The outcome? A significant lift in conversion and gross demand. I was honored to receive the Executive Homer Award from Jordan Broggi, President of Online.I also lead, design and develop of our internal, Angular, digital-insights platform known as Shine. This powerful set of tools includes data visualization dashboards, a Solution Design Reference library, QA tools, and even a fully integrated video platform—built from scratch to function like YouTube for our internal teams. Shine has become a valuable hub for our stakeholders. One of my favorite hats is that or storyteller, which has proven to be equally as valuable as engineering. As part of our team brand-building endeavors, I’ve labored to ensure our work, as the foundational layer of many other initiatives, doesn’t go unnoticed. By replacing dry, PowerPoint decks and spreadsheets with engaging narratives and digital assets, we’ve reimagined how we communicate our impact. This consistent, thoughtful messaging has helped elevate our team’s visibility by highlighting our team’s already amazing work, fostering a deeper appreciation for our team’s role across the organization.(Description character limit reached.
