ABOUT ALISTAIR JAMES STEWART
I’m an inclusive and impact-driven events and marketing professional with a passion for EDI, community engagement, and accessible design. I hold a First-Class BA (Hons) in International Festival & Event Management from Edinburgh Napier University and was honoured with the 2024 AEME Award for Best Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Focused Student.Having recently completed my MSc in International Marketing with Consumer Psychology at Heriot-Watt University, I’m building expertise in consumer insight, cross-cultural engagement, and ethical promotional strategy, with a strong focus on the festival and cultural sectors. As someone with ADHD, I bring lived experience to my work and advocacy. I’m passionate about creating inclusive environments where neurodivergent and marginalised communities feel seen, supported, and empowered. My leadership experience includes serving as Event Director for Fife Pride 2025, Festival Team Leader at Pride Edinburgh (2024 and 2025), and Volunteer Coordinator and Supervisor at Hidden Door Festival from 2023 to 2025. I founded and led both the Heriot-Watt Events Society and the Edinburgh Napier Disabled Students Society, and served as Wellbeing Officer for ENU Events Society and Lead Event Coordinator for the Business School Ball. I also was the coordinator for the Edinburgh Meadows Marathon for three years and was a Trustee on the Edinburgh Students’ Charities Appeal (ESCA).Alongside these roles, I’ve worked in various positions across the Scottish events sector, including as assistant producer, production assistant, and artist liaison, contributing to creative, inclusive, and community-driven event experiences.I’m always open to new collaborations and opportunities that align with my values, especially in events, marketing, cultural programming, and EDI-focused initiatives.
