Ocean Safety Ltd is one of the worlds leading Suppliers and Maintainers of marine safety equipment for both the commercial and leisure industry with an annual turnover of approx. £12million. Working with clients such as Carnival UK, Sunseeker International, Oyster and Princess Yachts, MOD, Volvo Event Management and other shipping agencies around the world, I have responsibility for the day to day running of the 4 branches and operate mainly in a problem solving and project management role, responsible to the Board. This role encompasses staffing levels and all HR matters, service scheduling overviews, IT and building maintenance, company insurances, training and company motivation as well as developing and running a coherent Management Team. I am also responsible for the project management of any new, business development projects that take place within the company. The development of new departments ensures that the companies own products and IPR are produced and managed in best practice; these are now self contained departments within the business. The Production Department annually produces £2.5million worth of stock for onward sale. In 2014 Ocean Safety became part of a new group of businesses, the 3Si Group. Ocean Safety has remained the core business within the group which now has an annual turnover of £35 million. Following promotion in June 2016 I am now Head of the Business Unit for 3Si (General Manager) and as such am responsible for the operational running of Ocean Safety including the management of the P&L. Through my work with Ocean Safety, in October 2009, I was invited to join the RORC Special Regulations Committee and in August 2011 I joined the RYA Technical Committee. I also sit on working groups at the MCA and World Sailing (ISAF).
