About Alisson López Donado
As an undergraduate student at Rutgers University-Newark, I am passionately engaged in studying health disparities exacerbated by socioeconomic inequality in the United States. My particular focus lies in understanding and addressing the health challenges faced by Latine communities. I am dedicated to exploring culturally informed approaches to preventive medicine that can significantly impact health outcomes within these populations. One of my special interests centers around advocating for improved health equity among undocumented populations. I firmly believe that developing a framework that prioritizes the protection and well-being of undocumented patients and their families is crucial for the protection of a prevalent group of people in the U.S. This approach not only addresses immediate health needs but also fosters a supportive environment where everyone can access essential healthcare services without fear or hesitation. Through my studies, research, and advocacy work I aim to meaningfully contribute to shaping policies and practices that promote inclusive healthcare solutions, ultimately striving to create a more just and equitable healthcare system for all individuals, regardless of their legal status, economic class, or ethno-racial identity.
