ABOUT ALISSA PARIS

My role as Executive Assistant to the Museum Infrastructure Division at the Science Museum of Minnesota combines the spirit of strategic partnership with the dynamic task of serving cross-functional work teams in their day-to-day operations. I am uniquely positioned to bolster the museum’s commitment to its mission & vision, which I understand is being both a place for fostering scientific curiosities in support of collective liberation, as well as a rooted transformative cultural institution in the ever evolving twin cities metro region. I am co-founder and Executive Director of MidWest Mosaic (formerly MidWest Mixed). Since the launch of our dialogues series in 2014, we have centered BIPOC who connect to the experience of being mixed race/multiracial/biracial/multiethnic, transracial and/or transnational adoptees, folks in interracial relationships, and mixed families. Our arts and community centered programming engages a multi-sector and multigenerational audience from across the midwest. It’s an honor to lead a growing network of dedicated community members in progressing this trailblazing work. Learn more at For the past 19 years I’ve followed my artistic passion as a freelance teaching artist, while occasionally appearing onstage as a dancer, actress and vocalist. I lend my talents as a choreographer and dance educator to a range of projects. I care deeply about advocating for young people and empowering them to use their voices and creativity to inspire social change through the arts.
