About Alissa Long
For the past 15 years, marketing departments have been running the wrong race.In the pursuit of pipeline attribution and MQL targets, we turned ourselves into a commission-less sales function: chasing leads, building Byzantine attribution models, and apologizing for our existence every quarter. We traded our strategic authority for a spreadsheet that never quite added up.I\'ve spent my career building something different.I build Market Departments, not marketing departments. Functions that operate as genuine commercial infrastructure: managing brand as an appreciating asset, translating market intelligence into strategic decisions, and creating the kind of authentic creative connection that makes demand inevitable rather than manufactured. The kind of marketing that gives sales their confidence, gives leadership their differentiation, and gives customers a reason to choose you that has nothing to do with price.Across 15 years and multiple industries in B2B SaaS, financial services, and managed services, I\'ve entered organizations where marketing was either broken or nonexistent, and built revenue engines from the ground up. That work has generated $100M+ in qualified pipeline, but the number I\'m most proud of is harder to measure: the moment sales leadership stops treating marketing as a support function and starts treating it as a peer.In the AI era, where content is commoditized and paid media is a spending war only the best-capitalized companies can win, the only sustainable advantage is strategic market intelligence and authentic creative connection. That\'s what I build. If you\'re thinking about how marketing should evolve in your organization, or you\'re working on something at the intersection of brand, strategy, and revenue growth, I\'m always open to a conversation.

Head of Marketing
Apr 2025 — Present · Denver, CO, US
Building Okorio\'s marketing function from the ground up: strategy, infrastructure, brand, and the cross-functional alignment that makes revenue growth sustainable for a B2B managed services and technology implementation firm. The work spans integrated ABM campaigns across multiple verticals, a complete website rebuild, brand development, and the closed-loop reporting infrastructure that gives sales leadership real visibility into marketing\'s contribution to pipeline. Marketing-influenced revenue has grown from zero to over 5% of total pipeline, with scalable processes now in place to support continued growth.Operating as a peer to sales and revenue leadership, not a support function.
