ABOUT ALISSA LEE
Alissa Lee began her legal career at Venture Law Group (later acquired by Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe), where she represented high-growth technology companies at every stage of development. She then joined Elance (later rebranded as Upwork) as its Director of Business Development and acting in-house counsel. At Google, Alissa held a variety of roles, including Associate General Counsel, head of the Asia-Pacific and Latin America legal teams, and Chief Operating Officer of the Legal department. During her time there, she launched most of the company\'s international entities, managed cross-functional country teams, and ran global legal operations across 15 offices. Alissa earned her B.A. with honors from Harvard College and her J.D. from Harvard Law School. She served on the board of EARN (now SaverLife), a non-profit that enabled low-wage workers to invest in college, homes, and small businesses, for more than ten years, and is currently an advisor/board member of Friends of the San Francisco Public Library, Yellow Moto LLC, and the Gun Violence Project. She has taught writing workshops to incarcerated youth through The Beat Within and is at work on her first novel.
