ABOUT ALISON ALSBURY

An Oxford Economic History Graduate, Alison’s varied career has focussed on the management of substantial change in highly complex stakeholder environments. In recent years, Alison’s main focus has been in the increased commercialisation or externalisation of UK public services. She has worked in health, social care and the voluntary sector, undertaking a series of business turnarounds minimising public expenditure and maximising the use of current capital and revenue resources, including creating innovative social enterprise models. Throughout the last twenty years of interim management assignments, Alison has a track record of commercial success, always delivering on any given targets and outcomes. Specialising in complex environments with multiple stakeholders, Alison always adds value by the depth of her understanding of the strategic and organisational issues and her ability to broker creative, sensitive solutions. Versatility is her key strength. Alison’s economic and language abilities took her first into high-level European strategic consulting, then into understanding the complex regulatory and governance frameworks required by privatisation. She excels in all the general management disciplines, from leading and monitoring people to accurate forecasting and careful budgetary control. Alison has vast experience of media relations, including extensive experience of acting as a spokesperson on national, regional and local television and radio. She has produced PR strategies for a national tourism attraction, a city and a town.
