ABOUT ALISON STEELE

Biomedical Engineer | Orthopedic Innovation | Global Experience I am a biomedical engineering student with 15 months of industry experience in orthopedic lifecycle management and medical wire manufacturing, driven by a passion for advancing medical device innovation to improve the patient experience. Through Purdue\'s GEARE (Global Engineering Alliance for Research and Education) program, I combined technical expertise with global experience, completing a three-month engineering internship with Fort Wayne Metals Ireland as part of my Global Engineering Studies minor. Prior to that, I completed a 12-month co-op at DePuy Synthes in the Commercialized Product Development department, where I contributed to orthopedic implant and instrument lifecycle management for joint replacements. These experiences strengthened my skills in experimental design, prototyping, material characterization, and cross-functional problem-solving. I thrive in hands-on, collaborative environments where engineering, creativity, and healthcare intersect. Whether it\'s refining medical devices, driving innovative solutions, or working in global teams, I am eager to take on challenges that push the boundaries of medical technology. Future Goal: I am committed to enhancing orthopedics to improve patient outcomes and the overall patient experience, aiming to develop smarter, longer-lasting devices that improve care. As I prepare to pursue my MSc in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Galway, I look forward to further developing my expertise in medical device research and development. Let\'s connect and collaborate!
