Founder and Director, Alliance to Protect Insulin Choice (APIC)APIC was established in response to Novo Nordisk\'s U.S. discontinuation of Levemir insulin, a unique basal insulin that provides greater flexibility than the other available options and is free from some of the undesirable side effects common with the alternatives. In 2021, more than one million people in the U.S. relied on Levemir for their diabetes management. Our mission is to advocate for the continued availability of insulin options, ensuring that individuals have access to the specific forms of insulin and delivery methods required to effectively manage their health and lead fulfilling lives.
