ABOUT ALISON LESLIE
Alison Leslie, LCSW, SEP is a licensed clinical social worker, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, EMDRIA-approved therapist, consultant, and facilitator, and certified in Transforming Touch. Alison received her master’s degree in Animal Assisted Social Work through the University of Denver. Alison owns a private practice, Empower Healing, Counseling and Consultation in Bloomington, IN, working with adults and teenagers on their path towards healing from developmental trauma and other life stressors. Alison is trained in EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Transforming the Experienced Based Brain and believes in healing trauma through body-oriented practices. Alison offers training and consultation in the Human-Animal Bond and Animal Assisted Services nationally and internationally, as well as EMDR and Somatic Therapy. Alison contributed to the Handbook on Animal Assisted Therapy (6th ed) on the topic of EMDR and AAT as well as the loss of a therapy animal, which has been highlighted in the EMDRIA Magazine, Go With That. Alison continues to learn and explore the nuances of healing through nature, animals, and somatically to offer a multidimensional and unique therapeutic experience.
