About Alison Lehman

Alison Lehman was appointed as County Executive Officer (CEO) in September 2018 after more than six years as Assistant CEO. She is responsible for implementing the policy direction of the Board of Supervisors and leading County operations. Alison has more than twenty years of experience in government and community nonprofit settings. Prior to moving to the County Executive Office, Alison served as Nevada County’s Director of Social Services for seven years, where she was responsible for the delivery of public assistance, workforce development, veterans, children and adult welfare programs. She has held several senior management positions within Nevada County, including interim Human Resources Director and Public Health Director, as well as the Health and Human Services Manager stationed in Truckee.Alison’s passion for administering programs that enhance the quality of life for families can be traced back to the early years of her career. Before joining Nevada County, she was the Executive Director of a children’s non-profit in Yolo County where she administered advocacy services for youth in the Juvenile Justice System. She also served as staff to the Governor’s Advisory Committee on child development issues.Alison graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Political Science and holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University, Northridge.
