ABOUT ALISON JENKINS
20+ years of international experience in policy and strategy development, programme, budget and staff management, technical assistance and partnerships, with over 16 years resident in Asia/Africa, including in challenging humanitarian contexts, and four years of post-doctoral research experience in the biotechnology industry and academia •Experience in diverse work environments: UN; international NGOs; Canadian government; private sector; academia •Broad experience at policy/strategy and programme/technical levels in ensuring equitable health, community and supply chain systems strengthening, maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) and nutrition, HIV prevention, care and treatment, infant and young child nutrition (IYCN), family planning, water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), social protection and adolescent programming (including adolescent sexual reproductive health); as well as experience in Ebola and COVID-19 contexts •Additional experience in preparedness, response and recovery, innovation, social and behavior change communication, supply management, sub-grant management, quality improvement and implementation research, monitoring and evaluation (with peer-reviewed publications) •Complex programme and budget management, and supervision of international and national staff in China, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Guinea Bissau, Rwanda, Zimbabwe and Vietnam •Partnership building with government, NGOs, multilateral development and policy banks, and academic institutions in China •Proven successful proposal development, reporting and donor relations with CIDA/DFATD/Global Affairs Canada, China International Development Agency (CIDCA), China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), DFID/FCDO, EU, Gavi, German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), the Global Fund, IDRC, Irish Aid, JICA, KfW, Republic of Korea, RITC, US Government (DOD, CDC, USAID), World Bank, as well as Nike Foundation, Hilton Foundation and Oak Foundation •Solid academic and research background: epidemiology & biostatistics (MSc) and haematological medicine (PhD)
