I am now in an executive role as Assistant General Counsel, working with Senior Country Counsel across all product lines in Canada, driving opportunities to establish and stabilize business within the Canadian market.I serve as legal advisor to the business on local and federal laws, legal principles, banking regulations and compliance across lines of business in and into Canada.Among my selected accomplishments, I- Serve as Regional Co-Chair for the LATAM, Canada & Bahamas and Chapter Lead for Canada of the GoGreen business resource group, creating a more environmentally conscious global organization and providing volunteer opportunities to employees- Significantly contributed to the effective resolution of a serious case of bad credit for a company in South Africa, potentially leading to job loss for 250K+ staff- Contributed efforts in providing emergency funding for Eskom during a leadership and governance instability in 20••••18. Coordinated with 9+ banks and 2 agencies to create bridge funding and alleviating dismal financial condition to keep providing power to the country, mitigating risks for the bank and potential collapse of South African economy- Provided oversight and leadership to Hong Kong branch’s capital market team, helping to efficiently manage its clients and close a deal in a 12-hour period- Led initiatives to support continuous operation of medium- and large-scale businesses despite economic downturn and complexities in the legislations during the pandemic- Delivered expansive growth to J.P. Morgan’s South African branch and teams, receiving recognition for consistent efforts and becoming a trusted full-fledged legal advisor to the business within the region- Served as Inaugural Co-Chair of the Legal Diversity Committee for EMEA.
