ABOUT ALISHA D.
I am a rising junior at New York University, majoring in Politics with a minor in Economics on the Pre-Professional Law Track. I am a Staff Writer for the NYU Undergraduate Law Review (ULR), a Staff Writer and Incoming Publicity Director for the NYU American Public Policy Review (APPR), on the Events Committee for the NYU Alliance for Environmental and Social Justice (AESJ), and a member of the NYU Undergraduate Law Society\'s (ULS) Pre-Law Networks Program. I have acquired extensive experience in the legal and political fields through internships at Vallone & Vallone LLP, the Queens County District Attorney\'s Office, and YVote. My strong legal research and writing skills have been developed through my positions as Staff Writers for various NYU publications. I am also experienced in Microsoft Office, print and commentary articles, event planning, outreach, and fundraising. I am deeply passionate about the interconnections between employment law and civil rights law. My recent publication in NYU\'s Undergraduate Law Review,\"Teacher Until Termination: The Implications of the Ministerial Exception,\" explores how employee\'s civil rights are curtailed due to the expansion of the ministerial exception. I also have a strong interest in public policy, particularly as it pertains to legislation affecting everyday New Yorkers. My article published in the NYU American Public Policy Review,\"Can New York Raise The Wage,\" explores the impact that \"Raise Up New York’s\" proposed minimum wage policy could have on minimum wage workers and businesses.
